Yay I did it, I am in Sainte Maixime and i officially passed the 600k line! Woo hoo, I was capable of this! I am proud. The trip is not over though I will still continue on to Nice as planned, so surpassing my goal can only be a good thing. That means one more week of blogging and more pics and maps and then when the trip is over, we don't have to part, you can continue to read about my travels and adventures on my other blog, will provide the link at the end.

So back to now + yesterday i rode 68k and arrived in beautiful Sainte Maxime very tired and ready for an ice cream, i procured one on the beach and then was soon met by my very cool host and his 6 year old daughter. I was immediately shocked and pleased to note that he spoke English fluently, something I have not encountered, with the exception of Susan, for many moons. I had a relaxing swim and continued to read "Everything is Illuminated", my fourth book for this trip- further evidence of the fact that I have not been able to talk nearly enough with my hosts due to each of our lack of fluency- before this I read, The Miscreant, The Picture of Dorian Gray, and A song Flung up to heaven- the 5th in Maya Angelou's series of autobiographies.

Any way, after reading, Erik and Julie whisked me away to their beautiful house on a hill overlooking beach and mountains, well I do feel like I have arrived! JK There was a gathering at their house last night with children running about, adults drinking and conversating, and cool aunts story telling, i could barely keep my eyes open and by the time the tart tropezienne was brought out i had to bow out.

Today we are going to spend our Sunday- French style in a combination of market visiting, cafe sitting, and explorations of nearby St Tropez.
