oops...put my comment in the next block before I saw this! I managed a "colony de vacance" (summer camp) for 4 or 5 summers in La Ciotat (I was working for a swiss company that ran summer camps, sports tours, ski holidays,etc. I was operations manager but I also managed the Canoe,Kayak, Caving and Sailing Camp. The sailing part of the camp took place at La Ciotat. We stayed at some big campground near the beach; it was beautiful by French standards. There was some great rock climbing too near the beach too. The kids did 2 weeks here, then 2 weeks at Vallon Pont D'arc in south central France for the caving and canoing part. Ah...what memories. I suppose sitting at a cafe drinking Pastis is something you do daily? LOL
